What does CYLAN mean?

The CYLAN

Our mascot – The CYLAN

What the name CYLAN stands for

CYLAN combines elegance, speed and a unique riding experience. You can tell from the name itself – once you know which words CYLAN is made up of.

The idea behind CYLAN

CYLAN is made up of two words: CYCLING and MILAN – probably the most elegant bird of prey in Europe. Both words have a special meaning for us:

  • Cycling
Cycling is our great passion. For almost 30 years, we have been designing unique bicycles in Switzerland. Using the finest engineering and exceptional design, we build bikes for every kind of terrain, from the urban jungle to muddy forest trails.
  • Milan
The Milan is a bird of prey from the Jura Mountains. The Milan regularly circles above our headquarters in Pieterlen, scanning for prey. With elegance and grace, the Milan soars through the skies – just like our CYLAN bikes glide along the road.

The king of the skiesroad

CYLAN thus brings together two worlds: a love of cycling and the Milan’s boundless freedom. You’ll feel it as soon as you hop on one of our CYLAN bikes – you feel safe, free and unstoppable. You’ll effortlessly glide towards your destination, deftly weaving through traffic and over obstacles. You are a Milan. The king of the road.
